Discover Eastern Europe [ Part 5 : Croatia - Split & Zadar ]

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
اسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

We left BiH after spending 2 nights in Mostar by Bus Crotia around 10am. The journey to Split took roughly about 4 to 5 hours depending on the passengers. Their style is not similar as our express bus in Malaysia. They stop in the middle of nowhere to pick up and drop off passengers. It could be time consuming.

Basically Split is the same as Zagreb in term of currency and language. Click here to find out a little bit of where we stayed in Zagreb and what we did. As usual, we slept almost the entire journey and obviously missed the beautiful views. Shame on us. I know.

Day 1

So we arrived at Split Bus Station (Autobusni Kolodvor Split) around 2.30pm. It was lunch time and we were extremely hungry. Luckily, there were stalls selling prawn kebabs and we happily bought so many of it.

In Split, we stayed at Rooms Valentino Split. It is a budget hotel with your preference of toilet sharing. We took a room with a private bathroom. The room is splendid! Wi-fi is good and facilities are fab. We love every inch of it.

Unfortunately, the travelling virus seeped in me after so many days on the road and I fell sick. One minute I was sneezing, the next thing I know, I had a fever. So, we didn't had the chance to explore Split too much. I am sorry hubs, I made you sad.

However, we managed to visit Split Diocletian's Palace. It's free entrance and is protected by UNESCO. I couldn't quite make up what resemblance does Split represent. It looked as the city was old as Rome or Venice.

Sick kid alert. The common area at the palace.

The palace is big, you could explore inside it at your own leisure

Looks like Nice, France isn't it? I miss Nice masyaAllah.

Outside the palace, but still inside the UNESCO heritage. Take your time strolling by the beach.

Enjoying the ombre sunset.

Nothing much we did since I was sneezing and coughing, it was so uncomfortable. We decided to call it a night.

Day 2

Using the same bus company, we took an early morning bus to Zadar, where we would depart from. The journey along the way was beyond words. Eastern Europe is SO beautiful! Their nature is priceless. Enjoy the short clips!

We did nothing much in Zadar because I was still unwell besides visiting the Sea Organ (Morske Orgulje). Basically, this place is built around the strongest waves and whenever the tide hit the pier, music is produced. Like an organ, the musical instrument. The sound is lovely. It was as if the sea has their own musical. I was going to upload a video recording of the wonderful music but there were very apparent faces in the video so I couldn't. At night, the lights are supposed to light up according to the music. We didn't had the chance to witness it as well. But fret not, that is what Youtube vidoes are for!

After a while basking in the sun, we decided to take the earliest airport shuttle from Zadar Bus Station (Liburnija Zadar) to Zadar Airport and chill over there. I was in no mood of touring anymore. My nose is blocked and my head was spinning.

On the plane during our way back, we met a group of lovely Malaysian girls visiting Croatia as well.

Our journey does not end at Manchester Airport. We arrived quite late, it was around 12.15am in Manchester. The last train to Sheffield was an hour ago and the next bus is at 3.30am. So we end up chilling at the airport bench eating tuna sandwiches while waiting. Our bus arrived, we hopped on and reached Sheffield safe and sound at 7am. Alhamdulillah.

That was the end of our Eastern Europe series. JazakAllahu khayr.
