Discover France [ Part 4 : Beautiful Southern France - Gorges du Verdon, Cassis & Calanque du Sugiton ]
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Assalamualaikum wbt.
After staying in Nice for 3 days, we went on a road trip to Marseille & Toulon. On the day of the trip, we stop by a place called Gorges du Verdon. It is a lake between mountains. The journey took around 2 hours by car from Nice. The area at first was a bit scary. French tend to drive very fast even though the road was by the mountains. But the view was breathtaking.
Upon arrival, my eyes couldn't believe such place exists. Subhanallah, MasyaAllah.
Can you imagine such beauty existed ? We were in awe, shock that my husband reminded me, whenever you see such beauty, ponder upon the creation of Allah SWT, recite MasyaAllah. And imagine, that paradise is ten of thousands time better than this. I will remember it. We did rent 2 paddling boats and went swimming. The boys did. The girls stayed on paddling.
When it was getting dark, we proceed to Marseille. We rented an apartment with 5 bedrooms and could accommodate 9 people comfortably. The price was very reasonable too. Spent two nights at the apartment.
On the second day, we head for Toulon. Our friend who was studying there had a football tournament. He invited my husband and one of our friend to join in. The day was extremely beautiful. Hot and sunny. After the tournament ended, we head to calanque. On the way, we had to go by mountain sideways called Cassis. Everyone could not resist the beautiful scene & we stop to take several photos.
This is my best photo with no recognizable inside it. MasyaAllah the place is too pretty!
And after 1 and 1/2 by car to calanque, we arrived the place. However we still need to hike & walk around another to reach the seaside by the mountains. Calanque du Sugiton. Again, I could not stop gawking upon the magnificent creation of Allah SWT. Everything is too pretty until my camera couldn't do enough justice.
I am not entirely a rocky mountain person but I couldn't help but loving the view along they way to Calanque. It was way too pretty. After walking & hiking, we arrived it. Finally alhamdulillah. A secluded bay with crystal, icy cold water. So beautiful.
See, camera couldn't do justice. By naked eyes, this view is prettier. We spent around 30 minutes swimming & the boys performed cliff jumping several times, until we decided to go back. It was getting a bit dark. We were scared we might lost the sunlight as our phone batteries were about to die.
Overall, it was a once in a lifetime experience. The places we only see in movies, now it was in front of my eyes. Alhamdulillah for the opportunity, the experience, the companion & the partner. If I am not married yet, who knows maybe I will never experience all of this.
Alhamdulillah.
