Hong Kong - Day 1 [Choi Hung Estate, Montane Mansion]

by - October 09, 2019

Hong Kong, our first whirlwind trip of 2019. It's one of those trips planned last minute like we always do. It was before the protesting, somewhere in April. Hong Kong is unique.  Having said so, we did not expect it can offer so much.

Tips:

  • To save ourself from traveling headaches, we booked most of our transportation means from Klook.com.
  • Not a sponsored post, but they do help with us buying our Airport express tickets and the Octopus card (which you will use this everywhere there).

Octopus card. Get one & use it throughout Hong Kong. Even to the remotest place.
Day 1 was tame for us. We arrived, checked-in at our accommodation in Tsim Sha Shui, and soon after, we were on foot to find the famous building in the Samsung ad - Choi Hung Estate.

From Tsim Sha Tsui, we followed the MRT route by Google Maps . The key is to ask around where is the parking building. Once you found the it, go straight up & you'll immediately see this colourful building.

Yes to that Samsung Ad.
We stayed for a few minutes and headed for Montane Mansion next. From Choi Hung, the MRT will take you to Quarry Bay Station and Montane Mansion is a 6-minutes walk from there.

The entrance to Montane Mansion is tricky but easy to locate. We followed a number of tourists and walk passed an entryway to one of the most famous Hong Kong's Instagrammable flats.

The entrance to Montane Mansion is behind the red traffic light.
Beauty is very different here.

Instagrammable. Yes?

We did not do much on the first day. Those two were the only place we went to. Day 2 however, is another different story.
