Hong Kong - Day 2 [Dragon's Back Trail & Hong Kong Streets]

by - October 09, 2019

Day 2 is when we decided to look for nature. If you search for nature in Hong Kong, no doubt you'll see Dragon's Back trail popped up.

The trail has a sightseeing platform near the peak that provides spectacular views of southern Hong Kong Island and its shoreline. Right at the trail's end is Big Wave Bay.

Tips:

  • We took MRT and a bus to the starting point of the trail. Just follow this Google Maps instruction.
  • Bring water. Especially if you're going in the summer.
  • Do not get discouraged at first. The trail is next to the point where it's not-tolerable due to the heat. But it'll get better. Trust me.
  • End your journey by following the trail to Big Wave Bay. You'll have an opportunity to cool off at the beach - hence, bring some clothes to swim!

The bus route.

The starting point of your hike.

At first, the journey was urm... Almost killed all of us. There was no shade, the trail seems like it's going straight into the sun.

Yes, straight into the sun.
But once you reached the peak, you'll know it's worth it.

View from the Shek O Peak.

Worth it.

Yes, lesdodis again!
When you started to descent, it gets superb. The route was shaded all the way and it starts to cool down.

We finished the whole route in less than 3 hours and decided to head back to our accommodation, shower and find some food.

Halal restaurants are ample in Tsim Sha Tsui. We had ours at Ma's Restaurant. Then we decided to explore the Hong Kong streets on foot until night time.

Yes, it's as good as it looks!

Bustling Hong Kong streets.

Generic small shops selling street foods.

Day 3, coming soon.
